With the 2007 Town Meeting season upon us, NH Public Radio (NHPR) has developed an interactive map on the http://www.nhpr.org/townmeeting/newton website to promote awareness of local issues and to increase public participation during the Town Meeting process. This map will allow citizens to be able to find the date, time and location of the Town's Annual Meeting and to view the proposed warrant articles and to participate in a dialogue on the issues.
This resource will educate citizens on the issues up for consideration and hopefully inspire residents to attend the Annual Town Meeting. Local officials will also benefit from the ability to view comments posted by citizens. NHPR will monitor the comments to ensure appropriateness.
If you choose to participate in any NHPR on-line discussions you will be asked to fill out a registration form and indicate that you agree to observe the basic rules of common politeness that makes for a good exchange of ideas.
